Pronounced AW-THAM-KEE, this phrase translates from the southwest tribes (Hopi and O'odham) languages as "The People's House". This theme community provides a welcoming, comfortable, and supportive living and learning environment for Native American students that affirms Native American cultural identity and emphasizes education, culture, empowerment, and community.
Students living in the O’odham Ki: Wing, through collaboration with Native American Student Affairs will have the opportunity to engage in the larger Tucson Native American community. Some of these community resources include:
O'odham Ki: Theme Community is an engaging living environment. In the community, students have access to unique resources and programs designed to support their transition to college. It’s expected that students living in the community take advantage of the array of academically enriching activities offered to members of the community – space is limited, so sign up quickly!
