More than just a Place to Sleep...

Dorm living is about learning to be independent, getting along with others, and making friends. It’s a place full of opportunities to learn life skills and receive an education beyond the classroom.

It is a place of ideas, where your world will get bigger. 

It is the college life.

There are so many great reasons to live on campus – you’ll do better in school, make lifelong friends, have a built-in support system and live close to everything. As soon as you are admitted to Arizona you should apply for housing, we have limited spaces and tend to fill up fast. We offer two types of assignment processes:

To help you get started, and make sure you get everything completed, we have a step-by-step checklist.


Checklist (for those who apply before April 1st) - Student Picks 

☐  Get admitted to the UA. Create your NetID and password
☐  September 4: Housing application opens - apply for housing through the My UAHome portal
☐  Housing Application: Application questions:

☐  Housing Application: Pay your $150 non-refundable application fee (inside My UAHome). 
☐  January 1: Applications open for theme communities (optional)
  Determine which dorms(s) you are interested in living in
  March 1: Roommate process opens

☐  By May 1: Complete your License Agreement (housing contract), available mid-April
☐  By May 1: Pay your $200 Rent Down Payment, available mid-April
☐  By May 1: Pay your Admissions Enrollment Fee to be eligible to pick your room
☐  Mid-May: Pick your dorm and room, starts mid-May and goes through June, based on date you paid your housing application fee

  • Once you have a room, you can pick a different room or dorm if you want (available until July 1)

☐  Sign up for additional services (optional)
☐  Late July: Complete your pre-arrival Online Check-in and pick your Move-In day
☐  Review Move-In information

☐  Before School Starts: Make your fall semester rent payment


Checklist (for those who apply after April 1) - Housing Picks

☐  Get admitted to the UA. Create your NetID and password
☐  Apply for housing through the My UAHome portal
☐  Housing Application: Application questions:

☐  Housing Application: Pay your $150 non-refundable application fee (inside My UAHome)
☐  Housing Application: Determine which dorms you are interested in living in; select your 5-10 dorm preferences
  Determine if you want to live in a theme community (optional)
  Roommate process

☐  By May 1 or when you apply: Complete your License Agreement (housing contract), available mid-April
☐  By May 1 or when you apply: Pay your $200 Rent Down Payment, available mid-April
☐  By May 1 or when you apply: Pay your Admissions Enrollment Fee to be eligible to be assigned to a room
☐  July-August: Receive your dorm/room assignment, assigned by Housing
☐  Sign up for additional services (optional)
☐  Late July: Complete your pre-arrival Online Check-In and pick your Move-In day
☐  Review Move-In information
