For 2026-2027 Housing*

There are so many great reasons to live on campus – you’ll do better in school, make lifelong friends, get the support to succeed, and live where everything is happening. Living on campus as a first-year, main campus student is expected*. 

Apply for housing starting once you have been admitted to The University of Arizona and have paid your Admissions Enrollment Fee. All students who complete their housing application by April 1 will select their dorm and room based on the timing between their admission to the University of Arizona and payment of the enrollment fee. That means the faster you paid/completed your enrollment fee after you were accepted, the earlier you will have access to Room Selection when it opens in June.

Note: If you try to apply later in our process, the dorms may be full. Housing is not guaranteed. Fall housing applications are for the entire academic year (August-May).


*Living on campus is the expectation for first-year students attending the main campus. Students who believe their individual circumstances make on-campus living unfeasible may submit a request for exemption through the housing application in the My UAHome housing portal. 

Students who live with a parent, guardian, or relative within 30 miles of campus may request a distance-based exemption. Additional exemption reasons are outlined in the housing application and may be submitted for review.  

All requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis to thoughtfully consider individual circumstances while upholding the university’s commitment to student success. Students are strongly encouraged to wait for official approval before making any off-campus housing arrangements. 


Housing Checklist

Complete your Admissions Enrollment Fee, then apply for Housing!

This checklist is for new first-year, main campus students only. Processes and deadlines will differ for current U of A students, and for new students who apply for housing after April 1.

☐  Starting February 1, 2026: You can apply to housing once you have been admitted to The University of Arizona and have paid your Admissions Enrollment Fee, created your NetID and password.

☐  Begin your path to enrollment in your Next Steps Center

☐  Once you have paid your Admissions Enrollment Fee, apply for housing in the My UAHome portal. 

  • All students who complete their housing application by April 1 will select their dorm and room based on the timing between their admission to the University of Arizona and payment of the enrollment fee. That means the faster you pay/complete your Enrollment Fee after you are accepted, the earlier you will have access to Room Selection when it opens in June.

  • Do you need housing over winter break?
  • Pay your $175 non-refundable application fee inside My UAHomeMust be paid by April 1 to be eligible to choose your own room.

☐  Starting March 1: Roommate process opens

☐  By April 1: 

  • If you applied for housing by April 1, you will be able to choose your room (based on availability) during Room Selection
    • If you apply for housing after April 1, room assignment may be different for you
  • While the housing application may still be available after April 1, there is no guarantee of how long it will remain open

☐  By May 1: Complete your License Agreement (housing contract) and pay your non-refundable $400 Rent Down Payment, available early-April

☐  Starting in June: Pick your dorm and room

  • If you completed your housing application fee by April 1, you will be eligible to choose your own room. You will select their dorm and room based on the timing between your admission to the University of Arizona and payment of the enrollment fee. That means the faster you paid/completed your enrollment fee after you were accepted, the earlier you will have access to Room Selection when it opens in June. We’ll email you at least one week in advance with your Room Selection date and time so you can plan ahead. 
  • Sign up for additional services (optional)

​☐  Starting in July: Complete your pre-arrival Online Check-in and select your Move-In date and time

☐  Before School Starts: Make your fall semester rent payment
