Important Dates

May 6
  • Last day of classes
  • Last day dorms will accept mail or package deliveries
  • Last day to recycle in the dorms
  • Quiet Hours Begin, 11PM
May 7Reading Day - no classes or finals
May 8-14Finals
May 15Dorms Close (all students must vacate by 12 noon, except those living in summer housing).
May 16Summer Housing Transition for Current Residents, 3-6PM
May 17Summer Housing Move-In for New Residents, 11AM-6PM

Closing Check-Out Procedures Important Dates

Attend your upcoming mandatory wing meetings for more information about closing procedures. If you have specific questions, please talk to your RA and review the closing information and checklist. And don't forget to defrost your refrigerator!


Mail & Packages

Before you move-out, be sure to update your mailing address in UAccess. We are unable to forward mail. If you are moving to the summer dorm, update your address to the summer housing dorm, Villa del Puente, 575 N. Highland Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85719. 

Please update your address before May 6th to avoid shipment errors and delays!


Summer Storage

USS offers summer storage for residents and is our approved vendor for this service on campus. 

  • Students can pack and simply leave their belongings in their room at move-out in May.
  • USS will pick up and send a photo of all belongings picked up.
  • In August, USS will deliver inside the student’s on-campus room before move-in and/or within 2 miles of campus for FREE.

Help Housing "Dodge the Dumpster"

Housing & Residential Life is partnering with the Campus Pantry, Campus Closet, and ACE Recycling to keep unwanted items out of the landfill.

As you're packing up your room and looking to potentially get rid of small electronics, furniture, toiletry items, or foodplease give your unwanted belongings to local organizations! Collection boxes will be available in your dorm's lobby area starting May 8th.

 

 


Move-Out Help

  • Each resident may have help from family or friends.
    • Helpers are considered guests. Residents are expected to escort their guests at all times.
    • Helpers should be aware of, and comply with, our Policies for Dorm Living.

*Housing staff is unable to provide move-out/loading assistance. 


Parking & Loading Information

  • Observe all signage and park in legal spaces only.
  • Parking & Transportation Services and Housing & Residential Life will not be responsible if you leave items unattended.
