Welcome to University of Arizona Housing & Residential Life – on campus housing. Approximately 7,000 students – more than 6,600 undergrads and 300 grads – live in our 23 residence halls (“dorms”) and one graduate housing apartment complex, La Aldea.
Our residence halls range in style (from historic to modern) and size (from small to large). Several dorms have academic-based Theme Communities for students looking to live with others who share similar personal or academic interests and goals.
While the University of Arizona does not require students to live on campus, 80% of incoming first-year students choose to live in UA housing to help their transition to university life.
Your hall is your community. We have live-in staff, Community Directors (CDs) and Resident Assistants (RAs), whose mission is to create environments where you can hang-out, sleep, study and build friendships.
With residence halls located across campus, you can easily walk or bike for a meal, the Rec Center to work out . . . and, of course, to class!
Housing & Residential Life helps fulfill the missions of the University of Arizona and Student Affairs by bringing students together into a caring community that supports learning and academic success.
Helping Students Build a Foundation for Success
Housing & Residential Life identified three themes as part of our departmental goals. By concentrating on the three themes, or foci, Housing & Residential Life will clearly and significantly contribute to the Housing & Residential Life Mission and thereby the overall Student Affairs mission.
